Chapel and stuccowork ceiling – Palazzo Cosma Centurione Durazzo Pallavicini

The palace located in the old part of Genova belongs to UNESCO since 2006. The ceilings of the chapel and the stucco work on the adjacent rooms underwent a thorough restoration. The four rooms were originally decorated in soft hues with unique locally made stuccowork covered in pure gold. We initially cleaned the surfaces and re-plastered the missing areas and subsequently focused on paint consolidation and on eliminating the salts in the plasterwork by using Japanese paper and. As a result, the gold regained its original sheen, the dissolved paint was re-established and the missing stuccowork was re-created where necessary.
