24 Trompe L’Oeil picture frames – Museion Museum

Reproduction in Trompe l’ Oeil of 24 frames from famous masterpieces (Michaelangelo’s “Tondo Doni”, Raphael’s “The marriage of the Virgin” and “Portrait of Baldassarre Castiglione”,…) to create a picture gallery where modern paintings owned by the Museum are paired to ancient frames. The artist-curator Francesco Vezzoli commissioned this work to build an evocative dialogue between past and present.
