Humanitas Research Hospital

The purpose of this project was to draw the patients’ attention away from their condition by transforming the hospital room into a more welcoming, familiar and domestic environment. On the bedroom walls are depicted everyday objects as books, pictures and prints while the dining area walls have been enriched with Trompe l’Oeil antique plates and vases. On entering the room one will notice a beautiful painted tapestry which makes the environment welcoming and less sterile, while the ceiling presents an “eye” open to the blue sky.
